Overview

Research projects are ongoing across a wide range of topics from acoustics to computer audition. Some of the current research topics include:

  • Development of flat panel loudspeakers and spatial audio displays
  • Spatial sound recording and reproduction
  • Efficient modeling of acoustic systems for feedback and echo cancellation systems
  • Audio coherence as a probe of acoustic spaces
  • Quantitative evaluation of spatial sound rendering methods and systems
  • Machine transcription and notation of polyphonic music
  • Automatic music composition
  • Audio-video analysis of music performance for source association and multi-timbral transcription
  • Sound search by vocal imitation
  • Generating "talking face" landmarks from speech waveforms
  • Emotion tracking via speech prosody
